Are there lots of risks to buying a refurbished Laptop?
I am looking for a laptop with wireless capabilities. Other than that I only need it for basic programs such as Email, MS Word, Excel and so on. When they say “refurbished” exactly how much of a risk do you run? I see some refurbished notebooks for $599 on Tigerdirect.com but then I see the commercials for HP notebooks that start at $499. As you can see I’m not the most computer savvy person. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
I understand your dilemma. I have bought computer desktop's from Tigerdirect (refurbs and open-box). Both came with warranties and worked fine. I have bought PDA's as well. It depends on what your looking to do with it. You don't seem to need much. Sometimes a refurb (or open box) can be better than a brand new one. Compare the specs and warranties.
